MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET
MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET
Susan is 6 years old, and her attentive eyes take in every detail of the traditional Thanksgiving parade that marks the beginning of the Christmas season. An elderly man dressed as Santa Claus smiles as he rides on a large float, but Susan watches him with little interest. She does not believe in Santa Claus: he is only a legend, or at least that is what her mother Doris has always told her.
And yet this Santa Claus, whose real name is Kris Kringle, is unlike any of the others. Thanks to his gentle manner and a series of fortunate circumstances, he begins to shake Doris and Susan’s certainties, showing them the importance of having faith even when common sense suggests otherwise.
But just when he seems to be succeeding, Kris is branded insane and must prove before a judge that he is the real Santa Claus.
It is a challenge that ultimately involves Susan and Doris as well, forcing them to discover whether behind that kind old man with the white beard there may be something much greater, capable of restoring their faith, hope and sense of wonder.
